HTC Sensation XE – Standard Camera

Well last night was awesome, and I’m not naive to think it’ll happen all of the time but the babysaur slept from 20:00 until 02:00 as did we! I woke up today actually feeling relatively well rested it was ace!

Well the crappy weather continued, I took this picture from J’s room! Once I’d sorted him out we drove up to see folks from my work which was nice, they had done a collection for us which was lovely. I decided to go before he got cranky for food/changing and hit the big Sainsburys on the way, I stocked up on some more sleep suits and clothes for J and got a big snuggly cardigan for me!

When we got back J was being quite grumpy, I think he’s found his “cry” voice! Before he deployed it at full volume I managed to get some food in the slow cooker for dinner later, It’s hard to find the time to cook with J! So after that the rest of the day was spent sorting him out until P came home!

HTC Sensation XE – Standard Camera

Me and J had a sofa/tv day today! We (and by we I mean me!) watched the rest of the first series of Blue Bloods and little else really! Today’s picture is of J’s hairbrush and some Burt’s Bees Baby Oil I bought (It smells divine!), I’ve noticed he’s got some dry skin on his scalp so I’m brushing it daily to make sure it doesn’t get worse and to get the skin off too.

The weather today has been rubbish so I’m glad we didn’t leave the house really!

HTC Sensation XE – Standard camera

We spend a lot of our time these days trying to make our lives as easy as possible and today’s picture helps out with night time changes! It’s a battery powered motion sensor light so when we go into J’s room it flicks on at night and then turns off when we leave, it’s also not too bright so doesn’t wake J up massively which is the most important thing!!

I felt like I’d been hit by a bus this morning as the cold really hit in but P was super and did a feed for me so I could sleep in a little. J seemed to sleep well in his cot, he looks teeny in there but he’ll grow up before we know it! Once we’d had food I popped over to my folks as our printer is borked and I needed to print a bunch of stuff out to post so my Mum helped me out, P stayed at home to build a Kitchen trolley we’d bought for extra storage space and then was awesome and did a bunch of house cleaning things!!!

HTC Sensation XE – Standard Camera

We had a busy day today all things considering! I’ve definitely got the cold everyone else in the family has which sucks but you have to get on with it regardless! We all had a lie in this morning, I put the babysaur in bed with us (I was awake but reading whilst he was snoozing!) and he slept in until 9am which was ace! Pierre got up not long after and we had a good proteiny breakfast to start the day off. J was captivated by the light outside when we were eating which was adorable to watch.

After eating we had energy to swap some furniture around, J has outgrown his moses basket, well he fits in it but wakes himself up so we wanted to put the cot in our room which was surprisingly easier than expected as it fit through the doorway so no disassembling needed! By the time we’d sorted everything out we had visitors in the form of my Great Aunt and my cousin who’d come to meet J and to drop a pressie off for him. It was my Great Aunt’s 70th birthday yesterday (I’m terrible as I forgot!), I hope I look as good when I’m that age!!!

They didn’t stay for long and as J had dropped off we figured it was a good time to hit the food shops! When w got back my Mum popped over with a surprise gift, she’d gotten us some self heating bottles which will be ace for night time feeds. We spent the evening watching Merlin before hitting the hay!

I took todays picture whilst P was driving over Barton bridge, I was amazed I got no other cars in the picture!!!!

HTC Sensation XE – Standard Camera

It’s freaking February already! How!

So we had a productive and lazy day today, it’s been ace! We slept in until 10 which was amazing, then after a quick feed and change we ventured out to the corner shop (oh the distance) in the pram and got some bits and pieces as we were running low on a few things (I’ve just realised I forgot to buy bread – whoops!).

When we got back J was still asleep, when he woke up I gave him a feed and he was just playing with it but was super calm so I figured it would be a good time to package him back up in his outerwear and take him to visit his Nana & Grandad so they can actually see him awake! He managed to be awake for 15 minutes before passing out in his Nana’s arms, but they now know he actually has eyes 😀

We hung out at there’s for a while and as it had started raining we waited for a gap in the rain before we left to come back home. I’m going to try (ha!) to make dinner tonight if J lets me, he’s currently asleep but fussing so I might do a strategic nappy change/feed so that he’s asleep again to let me get dinner on the go!

I’m glad it’s the weekend now, I know it makes no difference as I’m off anyway but I miss Pierre being here and we’re both so zombie tired when he gets in from work we don’t get much quality “us” time at the minute. I know that will change but it makes the weekends extra special!

Today’s picture is of Wrinkes, which was one of Pierre’s favourite toys when he was little! We’re keeping him at his Nana & Grandad’s so that J has cuddly things to play with when he’s a little older!

HTC Sensation XE – Standard Camera

So bedtime in our house has changed somewhat, we’re both (or me anyway!) are usually knackered that 8pm is a late night these days so when the babysaur has decided it’s time to sleep after his evening feed we tend to retire for the night too, me to sleep and Pierre will read! I took this picture of all the paraphernalia on my night side table which has changed drastically from make up and fun things to bottles, a room thermometer, baby saline drops, scratch mitts, and a muslin cloth to make the lamp a little dimmer!

I took the babysaurus to the Dr’s today to see if there was anything they could do about his cold (there isn’t, which I kind of expected) but it put my mind at rest. It was a bit of a palarver getting there as P was in Wolverhampton and hadn’t left his car keys so I couldn’t get off the drive! Luckily P’s folks were around to assist, the wait in the Drs was epic (as usual!) so I felt bad about keeping his Dad there with us for ages, hopefully they don’t mind too much!

I literally did nothing this afternoon, I was tired and headachy and decided to have a nap with J when he went down for a sleep in the afternoon, I woke up with the “household cold” but it made me feel like a human being again. I’m just wondering how in the hell you are meant to have a nap AND get things done in the house? It does my head in knowing there are piles of washing and things to get done and I know people say, leave it, it’ll get done eventually but I can’t so I’m trying to compromise by having a sleepy day and then a doing day. We’ll see how that goes!

HTC Sensation XE – Standard Camera

I ate most of today’s picture prior to taking it (whoops!) but I was starving! I’ve been struggling with time management and find it hard to sort out breakfast for myself never mind lunch so Pierre made me a platter for lunch last night so all I had to do is take it out of the fridge and eat it!

I woke up today with a cracking headache, I think it’s because of where I got hit in the face with the frame yesterday as that’s where the pain is concentrated. Paracetamol isn’t hitting it at all so I’ve just taken it easy today (well-ish, I’ve actually done my ironing – huzzah! and some washing, cleaning etc!).

J is still suffering with his cold, I rang the health visitor who said to take him to the Drs to be on the safe side. I have asked P to do it whilst he’s there and also chase them up re putting him in the system!

HTC Sensation XE – Standard Camera

I tweaked this picture a little as the camera on my phone has no battery so couldn’t use a flash! I was lazy taking a picture, I’d forgotten and then had little energy to think of something useful to take a picture of, plus, it caught my eye as it has a cake on it and I want cake!

I was goosed today, J is fussy and snuffly and P is ill so I didn’t want to disturb him in the night but had to in the end. Anyway I woke up feeling horrid so I was thankful my folks had offered to have the babysaurus for the afternoon so I could get some sleep!

I wanted to walk around and try the other bit of the pram system so I got it off the wardrobe but there was an Ikea frame on the top of it which fell and hit me in the face as I was getting it down so I have a thumping headache as a result of that! Despite this, I got J ready (I’d had the good sense to put him down thankfully when I was getting the pram ready!) and we walked over to my folks house. My Dad had lunch ready so I got fed soup and crackers then went home for a snooze. I felt so bad on the way home, I felt like I’d dumped him out of the way and I was a bit upset but I think it’s because I was so tired.

I picked J up, who’d been an angel apparently! We had an earlyish night planned as both of us were shattered!

HTC Sensation XE – Standard Camera

Another fussy night with the little person last night, he wouldn’t settle at all and when we finally managed to get him to sleep he was the loudest gruntiest sleeper in the world so I didn’t really sleep until 3am when I got him up to change his nappy then he seemed to quiet down for half an hour before starting the noises again!

We got up and then sorted food out (his not mine!) then I went to the post office to post a return back and some thank you cards to people that had sent us gifts, I’m slowly and surely working my way through them all!

Once we got back J was hungry again then he had some tummy time and I recorded a video of him lifting his head! My folks are coming over later with a gift from my Aunty so I can show it to them when they get here, or better yet, put him on his tummy if he’s awake!

I brought the pram inside today as I’ve not yet played with it myself, P has always kind of done it and as a result I’ve got “the fear” about needing to use it so I’ve had a play and I think I’m good! I just need to get the other part of it and play about with that but it’s actually really simple to use. Go Quinny products I guess, definitely worth the extra money!

P is in London today, all day and doesn’t get back until 8ish so we really are on our own all day today! I’m hoping it’s a quick one and it doesn’t drag!!!

Today’s picture is of one of the little chaps Lamaze toys, I show it to him every day and see if he can grab it and interact with it, he’s still not that interested (he likes the mirror on it though!) but he’s slowly noticing it and wanting to reach out and play.

HTC Sensation XE – Standard Camera

I had the most awesome night’s sleep last night! I basically went to bed at 630pm and P looked after the little chap but they didn’t go to bed until 2am so I got a big chunk of sleep done! I pretty much just sparked out as soon as I lay down it was the best!

I got up early, mostly because J was fussing for food and I didn’t want to disturb P as he’d gone to bed late and I’d been in bed for ages so I was wide awake anyway! I got some breakfast supplies from the kitchen (today’s picture!) and took him in the living room to eat and get some more sleep (he’s currently lying on the sofa next to me!).

It’s horrid weather outside, really windy and heavy rain (maybe hailstones?) but at least it’s melted the snow! It’s about 815am currently and it’s still really dark and horrid out too. The plan for today is to do nothing and catch up on rest for both of us as P is up early tomorrow to go to London and it’s a super long day for him as I don’t think he’s back until 8pm. Meh! I foresee lot of Merlin today 😀
